We are happy to announce that Allan Cooper has joined DrivingSales and will be a regular contributor here. Allan’s wisdom and thoughts will surely offer valuable insight for all of us. You may already know him, and you’vecertainly heard of him as a leading industry expert and an all-around great guy. However, just in case you have not, and by way of introduction, I have included a brief background for Allan.
Allan is an industry visionary and pioneer with over 25 years of global professional experience. The foundation of his automotive career commenced in Australia in F&I management before Allan moved to the USA in 1986, and initiated new automotive retailing solutions to the US market. Allan has extensive experience in dealership management operations. He has been actively engaged with many OEMs since 1999, and is now a highly sought after consultant for manufacturers, retailers and financial institutions around the globe.
At the very beginning of automotive Internet retailing, Allan saw its power and potential as a channel for new processes and positive connectivity to consumers. In 1995, he created one of the country’s first Internet departments at Barwick Chrysler Jeep Dodge, where he was the director of Internet, BDC and fleet operations. Allan’s department quickly grew into one of the largest in the US and became the blueprint for other dealerships to follow. In 2005, J.D. Power and Associates honored Allan as a Pioneer of the Automotive Internet Industry for his instrumental work in leveraging e-commerce processes within the automotive industry.
Allan continues to stay on the leading edge of technology, media and CRM processes that can help dealerships increase profits and efficiency. It is Allan’s firm belief that relationships, with both dealership customers and dealership employees, are the foundation that drive owner loyalty and retention at all levels, maximizing dealership potential.
