No More iPad Giveaways and Other Ways to Create an Effective Facebook Promotion

As you probably know, about a few months ago Facebook passed 500 million users worldwide. That's about 1/13th of the world's population. At this point Facebook ranks only behind Google in worldwide popularity. And as we always talk about how to harness the power of this social media powerhouse, I'm going to focus today on building an effective promotion on Facebook.
As the old adage says, "Seeing is believing." The same holds true for social media promotions. To throw out another cliché, "A picture's worth a thousand words." So, one word sums up how to be successful with a Facebook promo: visuals.
Cliché or not, these sayings are accurate. A great Facebook campaign can live or die by how it is seen and what is seen. Think of it like a magazine. What catches your eye when you're waiting in line at the supermarket? The cover photos and the catchy headlines. Essentially, the visuals of the magazine.
