GM's Preferred Owner Program

Has anyone been using GM's preferred owner's program in their service department? Has it been working? What kind of strategies are you using with it? If you haven't heard of it, it's basically like any kind of rewards program. Customers get a card and it gets scanned every time they come in for service and they earn points. It creates customer loyalty. Thanks!
