Employee Handbooks Updates

Steve Devereaux
Has anyone recently updated their employee handbooks? I'm looking for a cheap way to do it at a single franchised dealership. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Steve, when you say you are looking for a cheap way to update your employee handbook are you looking for someone to write it or print it? Which part of it exactly are you looking for help with. Im happy to help, just need a bit more info. thanks j

I heard it was a good idea to address social networking in the employee handbook, so we'd want to address that. It's been awhile since we've updated ours, so I'm not really sure what needs to be updated because I'm not an attorney. As far as printing them, I'm looking for the cheapest way. That seems to be the expensive part of it. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks for your help.

Steve, I created a social media policy for auto dealers, of course it's just a starting point but you're than welcome to it. You can download it for free, without giving me your email address right here: http://www.persuasiveconcepts.com/social-media/automotive-social-media-policy-free-download/ Here is one from Coca-Cola: http://www.pamorama.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/TCCC-Online-Social-Media-Principles-12-2009.pdf Intel: http://www.intel.com/sites/sitewide/en_US/social-media.htm There are more out there, but these will give you a good starting point. If you have any question, I'd be more than happy to answer them.

Are you an expert on this? Is there anything else that should be addressed? I'd actually like to get a completely updated employee handbook, so there's no policies that should be addressed that I don't know about.

Steve, A complete employee handbook can be updated/created for a small to mid sized dealership (single point or not doesnt matter) for under $550, this would include the first 30 copies- and you would then receive the handbook on a cd for your own personal reproduction that you could then take to any local print shop for copying as needed. I would be happy to talk to you about it if you have detailed questions. (PS- a handbook should reviewed annually to make sure that you are current) Wendi
