#OnBoardingFAIL - Why does this keep happening?

Yet again,

Of these 7 things, how many are getting handled within the first 2 weeks?

"Are you going to be the one who trains us?" an eager looking young man asked me shortly after I arrived at his store. I stopped at a dealership to talk about possible training for their team witht the management to be greeted by a small army of salespeople gathered around the front door. "Welcome. Are you here to see anybody today?" one asked. I explained I was there to visit with the GM about offering some training and 2 of them immediately began sharing how long they've been at the store and still don't have:

1) Business cards

2) Login to the keytrac

3) Login to begin certification

4) An email address

5) A name tag

6) A written schedule for the month

7) Anything beyond "sales meetings" for training


How formal and consistent is your on-boarding process and what does it consist of?

This happens so often......we are trying to handle most of this in training in the bdc dept.
