In my opinion, online reviews are an absolute necessity. Based on personal experience both leveraging consumer reviews to sell cars while employed as the Director of Marketing and eCommerce at Acton Toyota in Massachusetts and then interacting with DealerRater clients while employed as the company's Vice President of Business Development, I can tell you with 100% certainty that consumer reviews do help to sell cars. Having said that, whether one needs to employ a 3rd party company to assist is another question altogether. With my experience and know how, for example, I would not require help from a 3rd party. However, others who haven't the same level of experience may indeed find a 3rd party company to be useful when it comes to building a process to generate and then leverage reviews.
