BREAKING: Longtime Executive Leaves Tesla

September 13, 2017 0 Comments

Tesla has just announced the departure of Diarmuid O’Connell, vice president of business development, from the company. O’Connell was one of Tesla’s most tenured employees, having worked for the automaker for more than a decade.

Tesla released an emailed statement, saying in part, “For more than 11 years, Diarmuid has played an important role in helping Tesla grow from a small startup to a company with a presence around the world. He started with Tesla before the rollout of the Roadster, and now that we’ve reached the launch of the Model 3, he felt the time was right to move on and spend more time with his family.”

Tesla said in its statement that Jon McNeill, Tesla’s president of global sales and services, will take over O’Connell’s responsibilities.
