Erratic Driver Runs Over 13 Cars at Chevy Dealership

November 7, 2017 0 Comments

A Chevrolet dealership is looking for answers after a motorist drove over 13 vehicles on its lot.

Per WDRB, on Nov 1st, at round 8:30 p.m., an out-of-control driver drove over 13 vehicles at Big M Chevrolet, in  Radcliff, Kentucky. According to police, the unidentified driver was heading northbound when he drifted onto the curb after attempting to change lanes; the driver “lost control, hopped the curb, hit one car, then went up on two wheels and continued hitting one vehicle after another causing severe damage before finally coming to rest.”

Incredibly, the driver was not injured in the freak accident. Authorities do not believe he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, nor do they believe the driver was speeding. The cause of the crash is yet to be determined; however, it appears to have been a genuine accident, as police said the driver will not face charges.

As for the damaged vehicles? Steven Montgomery, owner of Big M Chevrolet, said that only three of them are not totaled; those three will be repaired and sold at a significant discount. With respect to the remaining ten cars, all of which were totaled in the incident, Montgomery said, “We will report them sold to Chevrolet, and then they will go to a salvage yard.”

Certainly this is the type of occurrence over which dealers truly have no control. Have you experienced any freak accidents or faced any particular challenges when it comes to having all or part of your inventory parked near a road?
