Ford to Layoff 2,000, Young Boy Attempts Dealership Theft

First off, according to Reuters, Ford has indicated it will layoff at least 2,000 employees at two of its plants in Wayne, Michigan. The temporary measure will allow the automatker to prepare the plant to evolve for new truck and SUV production.

Next up, per WILX, a 10-year-old boy tried to steal a vehicle from a dealership in Florida. The boy reportedly swiped vehicle keys while car shopping with his mother, and then returned to the store later that night but wasn’t able to steal any of the vehicles.

Finally, according to SmartCitiesDive, Michigan Democratic U.S. Senator Gary Peters is asking for consideration of the autonomous vehicle impact on the ride-sharing and trucking industries as lawmakers draft future legislation related to self-driving cars.
