Salesman Carjacked At Knifepoint, Hits Thief With Dealer Plate

July 6, 2017 0 Comments

For today’s story a car salesman ran into a very dangerous situation while out on a test drive.

A car salesman was carjacked at knifepoint. According to WFTV, the salesman, Nino Villanueva, works at Mastro Subaru out of Sanford, Florida. On July 1st, at around 1 p.m., Villanueva went on a test drive with Allen Pendergrass. The test drive was apparently going smoothly until Villanueva asked Pendergrass to turn to the vehicle to return it to the dealership. That’s when Pendergrass allegedly pulled a knife on Villanueva, pointing it at his face and demanding he get out of the car. Villaneuva then exited the car, grabbed the magnetically attached dealer plate and struck Pendergrass with the license plate in the shoulder. Villaneuva then called 911 and police pulled over the stolen later that day.

We at DrivingSales News are grateful that Villaneuva was able to get out of a dangerous carjacking situation without injury. What training do you have in place at your store or group for your sales staff to handle hazards that may arise during a vehicle test drive?
