The Mercedes-Benz $1,095 Subscription Program

June 7, 2018 0 Comments

For today’s story a world-renowned luxury automaker has launched a vehicle subscription program.

As outlined in a company press release Mercedes-Benz has launched a vehicle subscription service called ‘Mercedes-Benz Collection.’ The pilot program is currently available in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Nashville, Tennessee. The subscription service is available for consumers via an official app in the Apple App Store or in Google Play. The app connects the subscriber with a Mercedes company “concierge” who coordinates vehicle delivery and other customer concerns.

The service is broken into Signature, Reserve and Premiere levels, costing between $1,095 to $2,995 per month. The app allows usage of multiple vehicles, which vary, depending on the subscriber program. Per a company press release, the monthly premium encompasses insurance, vehicle maintenance and 24/7 roadside assistance.

Certainly Mercedes-Benz isn’t the first automaker to pilot a subscription service, with BMW, Cadillac and Porsche having already undertaken similar programs for a comparable cost. However, do you think automaker subscription services will expand from luxury brands to other automakers, perhaps, with a more mass-market friendly price point?
