UConnect Update Misfire: Constant Rebooting

February 13, 2018 0 Comments

Fiat Chrysler is making headlines due to a glitch in one of its infotainment systems.

According to multiple media reports, including CNET, certain 2017-18 Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, and Fiat vehicles recently experienced an issue with the UConnect infotainment system. Apparently, following an over-the-air update to the system during the weekend of February 10, some vehicle owners began to experience a system glitch. UConnect controls audio, climate control, and even vehicle back-up cameras.

On February 12,  the UConnect Cares Twitter account tweeted out a statement in response to consumer complaints which read, “Certain 2017 & 2018 UConnect systems may experience a reboot every 45-60 seconds. Our engineering teams are investigating the cause and working toward a resolution. We will post here as soon as more information is available and apologize for the inconvenience.”

What is your take on the reported ‘glitch’ in the Fiat Chrysler infotainment unit? Also, how often do customers return to your store looking for assistance or improved understanding of continually evolving vehicle technology?
