Pros: ADP CRM and Desking provide robust features that should address everything a dealer needs - hypothetically, if they worked correctly and consistently and were well supported
Cons: I just get the sense that ADP has a dearth of programming talent and is understaffed in general. The people they brought to our store to get us started seemed a lot more like car sales washouts than IT professionals, and boy, did that ever set the tone for our entire experience with them. Desking and CRM are both prone to constant errors that very often require restarting the software. It's a constant nightmare trying to ensure that the data I have for a customer on my side is the same that's going to come through to our finance department. In the past, with the Autobase and ERA solution we were using, I never had to worry that we were contracting a customer at the wrong address or on the wrong car. Now I have to relentlessly double check everything. The mobile app is a step in a great direction but provides scant ability and access. Getting what appear to be simple problems solved routinely takes several calls over several days. At this very moment I've been on hold for 30 minutes for help with the fact that desking is completely down. I called in and got an operator on another line who assured me that I can expect to wait at least another half hour. My entire morning has been cratered. As clunky and outdated as Autobase and ERA seemed, I wish we could go back. The automotive industry is massively underserved by IT solutions. In a lot of analysis, I think you could say ADP is the best there is. That is incredibly, depressingly, befuddlingly sad.
Pros: The ease of the system allows the end user to be super efficient!
Cons: The only con I have is that me dealer is locked into a contract with another DMS.
