The Power of Momentum

Jordan Binnington didn't come out of nowhere, he was prepared.  He knew his time would come.

“I realized a couple years ago, I was in a situation where my back was against the wall and I’ve got to handle it right,” Binnington said. “And I kind of just had this belief and hunger in myself to be the best I can be and make the most of my talent, and I’m very fortunate to be coming to a team like this. It’s been a pretty special season so far.”

Mindset and confidence are critical when people have counted you out. In my book I talk about the 3PM Rule, I talk about the formula being Preparation + Proactive + Persistence = Momentum. Preparation is what breeds confidence, being Proactive is continuous progression, and Persistence is essential to success.

This all leads to Momentum. I'd say that the St. Louis Blues have been feeding off of Jordan Binnington's Momentum wave since early January which has put them within 1 win of the franchises first ever Stanley Cup. “You learn that confidence comes from preparation, and you’ve got to be prepared for anything that’s thrown at you,” Binnington said Sunday. “It’s kind of the way I look at my life now and hockey specifically.”

Whether it's business or hockey, apply The 3PM Rule to maximize your momentum.

You got this!
