If you're one of the hundreds of dealers that are posting walk-around videos on Youtube (And if you aren't, why not?), you might be shortchanging yourself on repurposing that content to your best advantage. Did you know you can embed links to your website in your videos?
Here's an example. This video has an annotation with a link to my website. Click the annotation and you go to my site.
What's the secret sauce? Well, you do have to jump through a few hoops to get it to work.
1. Start by going to your YouTube settings and adding an associated website.
2. Then go to the video you want to add the link to and choose the Annotations button.
3. Create a new annotation (I generally use, "note"), enter the text you want to show and adjust the settings for font size, etc. to your liking.
4. At the bottom be sure to click th "link" checkbox and choose Associated Website from the drop down.
I take all my clients' walk-around videos and link them to their inventory pages. Another great use is to embed it on Facebook. The link stays active. Take it a step further and use a promoted post to widen your reach. For High Value Targets (HVTs), the dealer will spend about $100 on a promoted post and reach as many as 50,000 targeted users.
