The Ad Agency Scam Article

Tony Wood It brings up an intriguing question. Do you verify your advertising? How so and how often? I don't think I've ever met an advertising agency that doesn't send proofs/final cuts/etc. How did this guy get away with this for so long?
Mark Miller
Good question Tony. I never did any advertising with proofs and verification it was actually being sent out. TV advertising may be more difficult to monitor, not sure as I never did any.
Steve Tuschen
We always get proofs, a copy mailed to us, as well as the returns sent to us for tracking. Their is usually a report that you can view to see how effective the program worked. That would be a lot of data to create to look like he was doing something, but still far cheaper than doing the whole mailer.

We normally get proofs

We have a very good relationship with our ad agency, who has done some really high end for for us. We're involved in every step of the process, which sometimes slow things down, but the result is we know what they are doing. I also handle ad buys, so I know where our creative is going.

This guy also owns 111 Marketing, One One One Group, and Refidesk. If you're a dealer here in Louisiana, I'd check your payables for those names also.
