iPad < Android

Being a big believer in Apple (so far as to use an iMac in a dealership) I convinced my dealership to purchase and equip a 3G iPad for the purpose of generating reviews out of our service waiting area (thanks Brian). When on 3G service, the Google Places app or any website (Yahoo Local, DealerRater) can take the consumer all the way to the post a review button, but when clicked nothing goes through. Needless to say, this is making me look foolish, is wasting money and to my dismay the used manager just got an Andriod tablet that works fine! Does anyone else have experience with generating iPad reviews or has some tests I can run to figure out the problem?

Stephen I use an iPad and iPhone with the Google Places and my reviews post perfectly. Could you be connecting to the local wifi and not be aware of it?

As far as your problem is concerned, I'm not sure how to fix it since I'm not an Apple guy. You might want to be careful with reveiws that are being done at the dealership. When google is monitoring the reviews, they are tracking ip addresses and could get you in trouble even though they are legit reviews from customers.

Wi-Fi is completely turned off on the iPad. Location service is not, could this be why? The point of getting the 3G iPad instead of the Wi-Fi one is because the 3G network will create a different IP address than the dealership's allowing customers to write reviews from the waiting area without getting scrubbed. Like alot of my ideas, great in theory but having trouble implementing it!

Is dealer rater ok with this?

Dyland, DealerRater is not OK with this.... They want consumers to go home and rate the dealership. With Google Places App, Google has made a clear statement: Consumers should rate businesses when they have the experience. So I hope that DealerRater will come out with an APP but until then, the rest of the industry is clearly saying empower the customer to rate when they are in the restaurant, in the hotel, in the dealership. It's when the "experience" is most accurate.
