It was not until I worked for a dealer group that sells commercial trucks that I really started to pay attention to the top accounts. In my last dealer group, the idea was that "all customers are important." So unless the customer mentioned that they purchased several vehicles and/or they inquired online it was not otherwise known. The other issue we faced is turnover - so when the customer did come back in to purchase another vehicle they had a new sales rep. This is very important though, and in my new dealer group we hold events for the top customers, and send them gifts, etc.

That's awesome! We have a few clients who have tiered reward systems for loyalty that really helps the customer see their appreciation and value to the company grow over time!
