You can have all the technology, CRM and social media solutions in the world....but if you don't have a dealership culture that recognizes talent, nurtures, rewards and develops that talent you will continue to lose your most valuable investment. Followed closely by the hard earned dealership customer.....it's all about relationships, and that starts with the salesperson and continues with the service personnel. If you want an exemplary example of that culture look no further than Roger Penske, his dealerships and the management.

I would definitely have to lean on the side of talent. Technology only goes so far, and wouldn't be anywhere without the talent to create it and push it beyond its intended limits.

I am a techy kind of guy, but talent and retaining it is what this whole business is about. We use the technology to find, retain, and help promote talent. Technology is there as reinforcement after face to face contact happens.
