How do you track your marketing ROI?

Joti Basi

Hello Dealers and Internet Sales Managers,

How do you track your advertising / marketing ROI?  How do you determine if a particular marketing channel e.g. Google Adwords, Cars.com or CarGurus, or your website is converting effectively?

Thanks,
Joti Basi

@Joti, one of the ways we do this is having goals set in GA. And we also try our best to have the formfills/CTA's labeled so that when they hit the CRM, it would offer - Dealer Website - Credit Application - we do the same thing for third party; however, given that many customers convert off of multiple sites, we also look at a report in the CRM labeled "multiple lead source" report, which shows how many times - and where - the customer converted from in a specific time period.

It’s been a multi year discussion on how to effectively do this. I think we all look at various things since it’s pretty much impossible to find a fool proof way.
