Who is using smartphones and apps to gather trade info out on the lot? Which apps do you like the best for this function? Do you take pictures?

We don't have an app as of yet. I would love to get something going but haven't found one that I feel would justify the money spent on it.

Our Vinsolutions CRM app allows the salesperson to scan the VIN and enter the trade info. The info is pushed to the appraisal screen within the CRM for the sales manager to complete the appraisal. The CRM also integrates with external trade appraisal tools such as vAuto and Red Bumper. So once the salesperson has scanned it into the CRM, the manager can use whichever tool they prefer.

Good CRM's like Dealer Socket have this function. When used properly, it really makes an impact on the process. Select stores in our group are doing this an it's fantastic!

I use VAuto. We do not get the sales staff involved in the appraisal process so only the sales managers have access to the "smart app".
Daniel Wilkins
We use RedBumper. Lets the sales staff screen shot the VIN which decodes for you, then you can put in notes and take pictures. From the manager's app you can also see NADA, blue/black book, and auction prices as well.
