Third Party Inventory Lead Marketing Platforms

Alison Perrin
What has been your experience with providing your inventory (both new and/or used) to 3rd parties as a means to market vehicles to different audiences? What do you like/dislike about these 3rd party inventory lead platforms?

Sidenote: Our company is currently in the process of building such a platform to offer dealers a way to reach a larger and diversified audience. It has been shown that consumers are 5 times more likely to voice interest in an inventory lead as opposed to a more generic new car quote. Have you found similar results?

I like the exposure and I extremely dislike that you take my inventory and put other's options next to it or try to charge me to "protect" my real estate. In my blog on here http://www.drivingsales.com/blogs/paradigm-shift/2011/02/15/3rd-party-listingsfriend-or-foe I listed some frustrations. But then my friend Rich Lucy posted http://www.drivingsales.com/blogs/RichLucy/2011/02/17/stop-overthinking-roi . To varied opinions. I know this may not be all your looking for but maybe you can cobble an consesus from the commentaries. Good Luck!
