How Do your Managers Affect Retention?

Derrick Woolfson

We know that not all sales consultants make great managers, but they still continue to fill those roles. That said, how much of an impact do your sales managers have on the overall retention? What kind of safeguards or processes do you have in place to help with retention - i.e., if a sales consultant becomes a manager who once managed his peers - how do you approach those situations?

Mark Rask

Thats a good point.....That new manager has git to earn the respect of the team

@Mark, what are some of the ways your managers have worked with the sales consultant to build that mutual respect?

Bart Wilson

Managers have a tremendous impact on retention.  One of the best ways is to help their teams be successful.  If I think back to my dealership days, I learned most of my closes from my manager.  I learned how to set goals, do follow up, set phone appointments, you name it.

Derrick lots of coaching and just helping when needed
