Recruiting for non-existing jobs...

Craig Lockerd
Stockpiling first round draft picks ,sort of? I've read this three times and for the life of me can't come up with a good answer. We recruit for dealers across the country and sadly I must say far to many interviews are "handled" poorly, no plan,no urgency, etc. I would guess based on your story if they "handle" their internal customers in this manner ,they most likely "handle" their external customers in a similar fashion, sooooo best you didn't get the position? Dealers, Managers, there truly is nothing more important than finding and developing top talent, no investment of time nor money will yield you a higher ROI. Mr. Williams don't know if this would help you but it's free, easy Career Builder created this for us to help car people like yourself. No pitch, just good technology available to you. http://www.jobs.net/jobs/automax-recruiting-and-training/en-us/ Automotive Talent Network

Agreed, the way this whole deal was handled, I wouldn't want to be a part of THAT team. On the other hand, I am not afraid of taking over for someone who has run a facility poorly. Proper management can turn around a bad dealership "over night" and a star is born. However, it is only a matter of time before your current employer discovers your roving eye. I took a chance because I really saw the potential. They got a day of my life I will never get back.

I hope you land a good job soon, there are plenty of opportunities for motivated people

Luckily I am working. There is no desperation. I am just in a stagnant organization.

Very similar to the manager in-training position. Truth be told, the ownership/GM probably did want to replace the current manager however the hiring process broke down. It is sad that dealerships use the bait and switch with potential employees - old habits die hard.
