Thoughts on Draws

Chris K Leslie

What are your thoughts about “covering a draw” each month before being paid..?

Derrick Woolfson

Draws need to go, period. No one wants to work for "free." Especially not if you are working 12 hour days, 6 days a week. Not to mention, (and this is just one example), a $300 weekly draw does not leave many of the sales guys enough to live on. Add that to only getting $100 flats per new car sold, $750 if you sell 15 new cars, which is on the top end, and only $75 per MP plan, it was no wonder that many of the sales consultants wanted to only ever sell pre-owned vehicles. We do a weekly salary, and then flats, and tiered bonus plans, which seems to be working a lot better. And NO 12 hour days, ever.

Do you think a decent salary would be better than commission?

Martins Ville

Minimum wage + flats or commission (whichever is greater) + monthly front end bonus of 4% and back end of 2% .
