Advice for car auctions?

John, I'd tell you start slow, go to Manheim.com or ADESA.com and read the policies and start there. Ebay is a whole different ball of wax. I don't know how much recourse you'll have on Ebay. Darren

Are you registered with Auction Access and have logins to OVE, SmartAuction and Simulcast. If you are just getting started with online inventory sourcing OVE and SmartAuction are good places to start. You can call the dealer that has the car listed and discuss the vehicle before you purchase it. It takes a bit of time to reach a comfort level buying on Manheim via Simulcast and proxy bidding. But once you are comfortable with it you can buy a lot of cars there. I buy 90% of my used car inventory online via simulcast.

Manheim.com has some links to the Wholesale Institute that can be helpful. Depending on where you are too, call a location and set up a time to go and speak with them.
