I second Eric's sentiment about having the opportunity to make a difference. Before accepting my current position, I guess you could say I still shared the common opinion most people have of car dealerships, but all of that has changed now. At Suzuki of Wichita, I've discovered a community of forward-thinking professionals who are ready to recognize and develop talent while also working as a team to get the job done. I love this industry because it's a place where dreams really can come true. We've got a 19 year old salesperson who buffed floors at his previous job, and he just sold 26 units last month. Inspiring stuff!

Thanks for sharing Eric & Aaron. We (as individual contributors) decide how we view our relationship with the car business. When we can stay focused on what we love about what we do, something magical happens. When we take the time to identify why we love what we do, why we love our organization, why we love our colleagues and team, and how we show that love in the way we work, serve and lead ~ then "discontent" has no chance. When we choose to focus on what serves us as independent professionals, then we take responsibility for the relationship and can choose to show up everyday with passion. Thanks for sharing the LOVE!

I love being surrounded by incredible people. Yes, I have a lot of 'friends' on Facebook, but they are some of the most genuine people I know, and they are almost all in the auto industry. I, like Eric, like to make a difference. In surrounding myself with incredible people and learning from the successes of them, that is what makes the job fun. I've been doing this for 17 years and wouldn't have it any other way.

Great thought starter Renee. I love that I can take my 20+ years of retail automotive experience and translate into providing dealers with valuable and relevant data and education. Tough to teach someone how to make better use of each gear on your bicycle if you've never been on the seat.
