New Car Third Party Leads

Michael Ryan
Hi all, We are getting to a stage where live chat is our single most important source of appointments, and our own websites and used car advertising websites are helping us set new records. However, we're still reliant on new car third party leads to an extent. We budget $4,000 to $5,000 per month for these leads, primarily from three sources:, Auto Internet Marketing, and iMotors. While it's no surprise some of these leads are sent in under duress or because of misleading advertising efforts, I find them part of a balanced lead diet -- but perhaps it's time to shift the balance? Right now new car third party is about 1/3rd of our total internet marketing spend and also 1/3rd of the lead volume. Despite the spending and efforts, these sources offer incremental sales increases at best, and major headaches at other times. What kind of resources are you guys and gals spending on new car leads? I think the third party new car lead ship has sailed, but just looking for opinions and ideas of the "real world" closing ratios you see with third party new car lead efforts. Mike
