Have you ever been in a situation where you know that it's not in the customer's best interest to buy? Maybe due to the vehicle, they're attempting to purchase or because of things going on with them personally. Do you sell them the car anyway?

This will depend on the character and the way you like to do things.

Whether it's a car or any type of product, I like to feel good about the sale. If I realize it's not right for the customer, for any reason. I tend to be transparent about it and why.

This can make you lose the sale, yes, but also help you in the future. People appreciate honesty because they too have a gut feeling.

I have seen situations where we've advised the customer to wait and explain why. They usually end up coming back to that salesperson that gave them advice.
