I love convincing customers it's cheaper for them to purchase a newer vehicle with a warranty vs. driving their old one. Even though their payment is going up, it's cheaper than the possible repair costs, and they get to drive the car they really want.

@Jason, I applied the same concept. But offered that they would have the "peace of mind" driving a vehicle with a warranty. That and the newer vehicle had more safety features, which who does not want to protect their loved ones. It usually worked.
