Morgan Auto Group Hires New Chief Learning Officer

Pamela Prue has been hired by Tampa-based Morgan Auto Group to be its Chief Learning Officer. Prue will be in charge of sales recruiting and training for the 28-strong auto dealership group.

TAMPA BAY, Fla. ( October 18, 2017) Morgan Auto Group proudly announces the appointment of Pamela Prue as Chief Learning Officer for the Tampa-based, auto giant. Prue will be in charge of sales recruiting and training for the company.

Prue, who holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Saint Joseph’s College, in Standish, ME, has a strong automotive background. Prue was Area Training Manager for Toyota, for whom she trained more than 500 sales agents for Toyota dealerships throughout the West Coast of Florida. Furthermore, Prue has served as senior account manager and training and development manager.

Nissan Opens First Purpose-Built Nissan 2.0 Store In US, Iconic Design On Display At Zeigler Nissan

Crown Motorsports Division Builds Record-Breaking Supercharged Audi S5,GIAC Production Software Used

Loe Phaengsavanh, a Crown Motorsports Division client, sets new quarter-mile record with an Audi S5 3.0 equipped with GIAC tuning software. The vehicle was confirmed to be the fastest recorded stock supercharged S5 in the world on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Bradenton Motorsports Park in FL. after finishing the quarter-mile in 11.208 at 122.96 mph.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - March 31, 2017 - PRLog -- Crown Motorsports Division recently announced a record-breaking 1/4-mile run by client Loe Phaengsavanh using an Audi S5 3.0 built by the St. Petersburg-based custom performance center. The 2014 Audi S5 set the quarter-mile record at 11.208 seconds on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Bradenton Motorsports Park in FL, reaching 122.96 MPH. The vehicle now holds the world record for stock, supercharged 2013 – 2016 S5 coupes.

Phaengsavanh also set the previous 1/4-mile record at 11.241 seconds last summer reaching 122.44 MPH.

"It has been our pleasure at Crown Motorsports Division to work with Loe as well as GIAC throughout the testing and development process for this vehicle and current software. Because of the commitment from both Loe and GIAC , as well as the skilled hands of our technicians at Crown Motorsports Division, we were able to share in this awesome accomplishment," said Evan Doel, Performance Lead at Crown Motorsports Division.

Crown Motorsports Division has been partnering with GIAC since March 2016 and began beta testing the B8.5 Dual pulley software in August 2016 with Phaengsavanh and his record-breaking Audi S5.

"Loe has been paramount in the development and success of the B8.5 GIAC software and he deserves a lot of credit for what he has accomplished," Doel continued.

Other performance modifications made public by Crown Motorsports Division include: AWE super charger pulley, larger crank pulley, upgraded cooling system, Crown Motorsports X-pipe exhaust modification, and a transmission mount upgrade.

"I felt great knowing that I was part of something that will be utilized for others who run, or will run, using GIAC software. The team was wonderful to work with, and I enjoy that my daily driver can run like it does safely without going to the extremes. If the weather cooperates, I will be making a few more passes, slowly chipping away at my time. And if not, then I will hit the track again once cooler weather passes through Florida in the fall," said Loe Phaengsavanh.

The record-breaking night run took place on Thursday, March 16 during Bradenton Motorsports Park's Test and Tune night.  Phaengsavanh, reached the 11.208-second marker on his second run of the night."

Morgan Auto Group celebrated its 20th dealership milestone today after acquiring former Scott-McRae Automotive dealership Mercedes-Benz of Gainesville. The dealership located at 4000 N. Main Street, joins four other Gainesville area dealers under the control of the family owned group. Larry Morgan and his son Brett Morgan also own Honda of Gainesville, Gainesville Buick GMC, Gainesville Mitsubishi and VW of Gainesville.


Earlier this year they also acquired the Lake City based Rountree Moore Dealership Group. “Beginning with Honda of Ocala, this brings our total dealership presence in Central Florida to 11 dealerships. As a former Gainesville resident, I am thrilled that we have been able to add such a high value asset to our group,” stated MAG CEO Brett Morgan. “The reputation of the store stands on its own as a special place in Gainesville,”  continued Morgan.

“We are keeping the entire team in place,” said Morgan VP of Operations  Bob Murray. “From GM Chris Baynard on down, customers will have the same great team to work with. We were also able to bring Dan Schmidt back to the store who previously worked with the Morgan team.” Murray recently left his post as General Manager of Mercedes Benz of Tampa after an 8-year run that culminated with average monthly sales of 500 units. “It’s not an easy job making an already great dealership better, but we are up to the challenge.”
