What topics would you like to see discussed at DSES 2011?

What topics would you like to see discussed at DSES 2011?

One of the things that sets the DrivingSales Executive Summit apart from other events (besides being designed specifically for progressive dealers) is that ALL of our event speakers and topics are driven by you, the dealers.  Unlike other events, we do not sell speaking spots to vendors nor do we let sponsors dictate the agenda.  We want you to come and get inspired, not pay to hear a sales pitch.

We let the dealer community suggest the topics they need to learn about in order boost their bottom line, then we let speakers apply for those spots and finally we let the dealers vote on who will deliver what messages.  Also, by not requiring speeches to be written months in advance, we make sure DSES is the most cutting edge and relevant event in the industry.

So, now is your chance…  What would you like to see covered this year at DSES?

Jared, I'd like to see a speaker/panel on buyer behavior on the web. It would be helpful as a dealer to know what sites specifically customers visit and when they visit them in the buying/shopping process (i.e. oem site 6 months out, edmunds/kbb 3 months out, dealer website 1 month out, etc. etc.) Also to get an idea of consumer behavior when it comes to cross shopping brand and dealership.

Jared, These are all great topics - one item I'd like to see discussed more is mobile. Conversion & mobile will definitely be included in my panel's discussion as well. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Vegas!

Jared, I would like to see more about non-automotive specific solutions, which dealers can utilize to more efficiently interact with consumers/prospects, better manage online assets, etc. For example, how many dealers know about Hootsuite? How many other solutions exist, similar to hootsuite, that dealers do not even know about? I am using hootsuite as an example, but I am looking for solutions, companies, etc that I can use across the board so they should not be social media specific. Also, I think there needs to be a specific focus on local search engines. If dealers and managers had a better understanding of local search engines and how to better leverage them, everyone would have a stronger knowledge base of SEO in general.

A deep dive on Google Analytics and Webmaster tools. I keep finding little nuggets in there and I am probably missing some. Customer retention using digital strategies and building a loyal fan base that talks positively about you. It would also be great if you could bring in people form outside the auto industry to feature some of the social and seo topics.

I'd be definately interested in the social commerce. We have great things in place, but virtually no interaction on our fb page. I follow a lot of dealers and try to mirror them, but get nothing. Love the analytics idea from Joey. Being an analytics guy and in there every day, if I could pick something up, that would be awesome.
