Succeed in Online Car Sales: 3 Reasons You Need a Great Auto Transport Broker

Let’s face it; the car business is more different today than it was even 1 year ago. Internet sales are on the rise as customers are doing their vehicle comparison searches on google, rather than taking the time to physically visit each and every dealer in their area. It’s more important than ever to have the right information on hand for your customers when they need it. You may not realize it now, but by the end of this article you will understand why a great auto transport broker is an invaluable resource to any car dealer. It doesn’t matter if you deal in classic cars, exotics, new or used vehicles, or even salvage titles…if you don’t have a transport company in your contact list, you may be losing tens of thousands of dollars every year.

  1. Your auto transport broker will help you close more deals, and make you more money. The power of the internet has created immense competition and thinned out margins on each vehicle sold. Every penny counts these days. Being able to call someone that can give a realistic shipping cost for a vehicle sold out of state prior to structuring your deal is invaluable. Your margins can only improve with the right information. The right partnership with the right transport company provides you the opportunity to know the numbers in advance. How many times has a deal fallen through because you could either not find a carrier to pick up your sold vehicle on time, or your estimated transportation cost was way off? Both scenarios could effectively kill a deal or cause you to lose money. Get help with the numbers. Consider hiring an experienced broker.
  2. The right shipping partner simplifies your sales process, and opens new market opportunities. Ok, you’ve made your deal, but now it’s time to get the vehicle delivered to your client. Most dealers may have one or two carrier companies that they call on to move their vehicles. If you think about it, this is a very inefficient way to operate; that is, if you want your business to grow. Small carrier companies are limited in time and scope. You may have 1-10 cars at any given time that need to go from point A to B, C, D…and so on. How long will it take to have all of those cars delivered to your clients using one or two small carriers? Weeks? A Month? How much time and how many phone calls would be required of your salespeople to coordinate all of these deliveries?

A good auto transport company should have a network of 500-1,000 car carriers that they can call on to complete any job at any time. The good ones will have your cars picked up within 72 hours, moving to anywhere in the contiguous U.S. This will undoubtedly open up new market opportunities for your dealership. Good auto transporters can also assist your salespeople once the sale is complete and deal directly with the customer themselves. This frees up time for your salespeople to do what’s most important; sell more cars!

  1. An auto transport company will help build your referral base. How, you say? In the busy world that we live in, there is nothing that people want more than to complete a task, and move on. This holds true when buying a car. Once your deal is done, your client wants the car now. A good transport broker will have your vehicle picked up and delivered before any independent car carrier can, which will make your client happy. They will be called prior to pick up and delivery, and also be provided with a door-to-door auto transport. The driver will literally come right to them, ask them to sign the proper paperwork, and they can move on to their next task of the day. It’s that easy. When your salesperson calls to follow up, they should be met with an extremely satisfied client who will not forget the person or company that provided them with such a pleasant experience.

The automation and ease of the shipping process is foreign to many car dealers who are gaining new experience daily in the competitive world of online vehicle sales. Managers and salespeople must use every tool at their disposal in order to have the highest probability at closing a sale. An auto transport broker is a critical resource that’s missing from many dealers’ arsenal today. Utilizing a professional auto transport company will give you a key advantage by helping to automate your sales process, leading to more sales and referrals from satisfied clientele.
