Using Videos to Drive Sales

In the year 2004 a devastating tsunami crashed through the Indian Ocean destroying the shores of Indonesia and even making its way to Thailand. Prior to this catastrophic incident Janet Jackson also had her famous wardrobe malfunction at Super Bowl XXXVIII while thousands watched on TV. In the wake of these events, three Paypal employees sat at their desks searching and searching for proof. They scanned high and low, far and wide, but came up with no results.

In February 2005, YouTube was born. The same three evidence-hungry Paypal geniuses decided it was time to let the world take what they see and make it available. To EVERYONE.

When media changes, so does marketting. The creators of Youtube, inspired by the connectivity of the still popular "Hot-or-Not" website, probably had no idea how useful their tool would become. Today the average American spends 23 hours each month watching online video content. To not take advantage of that window as a selling opportunity would just be silly.
