St. Petersbrug, FLA.  September 18, 2018 -- Crown Automotive Group announced its continued support of the Finance Park at the Stavros Institute. The St. Petersburg-based auto group has been a proud sponsor of the educational initiative for 11 consecutive years to date.

The Crown Automotive Group, with its home office in St. Petersburg and dealerships in Florida, Tennessee and Ohio, announced it will continue its sponsorship of the Finance Park educational programs based at the Stavros Institute. This marks the 11th consecutive year Crown has been a sponsor. 

“The Crown Automotive Group believes that contributing to a quality education for our youth is an important responsibility and a great opportunity to make a difference in young people’s lives,” said Jim Myers, president of Crown Automotive Group. “Our commitment of over 10 years of sponsorship with Finance Park is just one way we help make positive change.”

Building on the success of the earlier Enterprise Village program, the Finance Park was established more than 20 years ago as part of a joint effort between Pinellas County Schools and the Pinellas Education Foundation. 

This program is aimed at eighth-grade level students and places an emphasis on applying math skills in the context of managing a household budget. The program assists students by providing an environment where they are able to:

- Develop basic personal finance concepts
- Utilize quality concepts to plan personal finances
- Understand the advantages of saving and investing
- Understand the advantages and disadvantages of using credit
- Allocate time wisely and follow a time schedule
- Work within a group structure to acquire, evaluate, organize, and maintain information.

“Providing each generation of students a foundation for success in managing their finances is extremely important. Crown Automotive is thankful to be a part of making a difference for all of our 8th grade students through Finance Park,” Myers added.
