I joined an internet 20 group two years ago. It has taken some time for our data to start making sense but we have made a lot of headway in that area. We have some of the industries leaders in our group.
Pro's: We are able to constantly give each other feedback on new Internet/bdc products....this has saved me countless time and money. I do not make many purchases without asking the groups advice. I can also use our composite to hold venders such as autotrader and cars.com accountable. Our best idea sessions are one of the best parts of our meetings, I have used quite a few of them in our dealership. We also have accountabilty among the group members because of the composite.
Con's: There is obviously an expense factor. It also adds some extra work to each managers workload. time out of the store for the meeting every 4 months.
All in all I feel that the pro's definately outweigh the cons. I have learned a lot from my group. They are a very dedicated and hardworking group of managers/owners.
