It's a numbers game. Mass media is rightly named, it has made dealers millions. Social media might not sell cars today, but one day it will. Will it sell every car? Unlikely. Do Social Media off-line and tell your customers you're on facebook, twitter and yelp too. I love his success and effective use of online media. I agree with the power of social and the usual neglect but he is dead wrong that people don't look at and use other media. Offline media such as direct mail still works very well and at the moment is actually increasing in effectiveness. It is always a mistake to look for one magic media whether it is on or offline. 3M's - Message, Media, Market and the Match. The right idea is to use ALL media effectively with the right message to the right people at the right time using varied media. Stop trying to win an argument of what is the most effective, most up to date or what is the cool media. It is the wrong question.
