Car Sales in less than 2 Hours - 2020-10-05

Hi Auto Champions.  I recently started working for a  great dealership and have been trying to understand the purchasing process, from the customer and business points of view. Here it is: Why can't someone buy a car in two hours or less? The current sales process seems like self- sabotage with lengthy steps and many prep items that can be done at home. Is this correct? Are you able to get someone out in two hours or less form a walk in?

My personal best is about 45mins. Most range from about 1.5 to ~ 2 hrs however there are those that take 4+ hours. It depends on the customer. The shortest was someone on a used vehicle that just said I'll take it and no  trade, negotiation or financing. Which is rather rare. People make their own experience to a degree. It would be much faster if they let me make all the decisions for them.
