Create Actionable Data with Google Analytics Dashboards

Most everyone is familiar with Google Analytics. One thing that I do not come across often is marketers that utilize the dashboard feature in Google Analytics, especially in the automotive space.I would like to change that!

Dashboards give you an overview on how your websites are performing by displaying summaries of different reports as widgets on a single page. With a dashboard, you can monitor many metrics at once, so you can quickly check the health of your accounts or see correlations between different reports. To view and manage your dashboards, use the Dashboards menu on the left, found under the Home tab.

Each profile in your Google Analytics account displays a default dashboard that is pre-populated with a few widgets. You can add new widgets to a dashboard by clicking Add to Dashboard at the top of any report, or by clicking +Add Widget from the dashboard menu. You can also customize and remove any widget on a dashboard, including the default widgets that automatically display in your account. Click the gear icon in the top corner of each widget to see these customization options.

You can create up to 20 dashboards, and each dashboard can contain up to 12 widgets.

Dashboards are available only in the profile in which you create them. To share them outside that context, use the Share menu in the Action Bar

Click Share Dashboard to make the dashboard available to all other users in that profile.

Click Share Template Link to generate a URL you can copy and send to other users or host in a document or on a site.

When you share a dashboard via a template, you share only the settings for the dashboard--you do not share any data. You can send the link to anyone with an Analytics account, and that person can then import the settings.

Here are a few of my favorite dashboards that I would like to share with the Driving Sales Community. Just copy and past the URL into your browser and choose the Google Analtyics profile

Great stuff Jason - appreciate you sharing this info with the community! This is the type of activity that differentiates those just showing up for work and those making improvements! And, since you offered, I'd love to see what you;ve got for the SEO dashboards. (Then we can move onto your others!) Thanks again!
