About the Product

Since our founding in 2005, TrueCar has been striving to create a better car-buying experience for consumers and Dealers. Thousands of TrueCar Dealers nationwide have sold over 700,000 new and used vehicles to users of TrueCar sites, which includes hundreds of leading brands such as USAA, Consumer Reports, AAA, Farm Bureau, GEICO, American Express, TrueCar.com, U.S. News and Yahoo! Autos. TrueCar Dealers benefit from an immediate and powerful “transfer of trust” as members, customers and employees contact Dealers directly from branded sites. The TrueCar service helps participating Dealers significantly reduce their selling, advertising and inventory expenses. TrueCar's fees are as much as 50% lower than the average advertising expense per new vehicle sold per NADA. TrueCar does not charge Dealers for leads or clicks, and there are no sign-up, set-up or inventory listing fees. There are no long-term contracts, and Dealers can cancel at any time.

Truecar is violating TCPA and Dealer Agreements
Reviewed by an Internet Director Last Week
Recommended: NO
✅ Verified Rating

Pros: You get leads

Cons: Truecar will not provide dealerships with the phone numbers of customers who want to be texted. Instead, truecar provide a truecar phone number where the dealership can text, truecar then intercepts the message and sends a message to the consumer, a message we have no way reading. They could be texting anything. Furthermore, this is a clear violation of TCPA. Where is the Written opt-in? TCPA rules clearly state that opt-in may not be tranferred! Why will they not provide the dealership the consumers phone number?

Truecar is keeping and hiding customers information from dealerships

✅ Verified Rating

Pros: There are no Pro's to purposely hide customers information from the dealship

Cons: So now Truecar is hiding customers information from dealerships, information like the customers ACTUAL phone number. Instead, Truecar is sending dealers a fake phone number we can not call but must Text. This text goes to Truecar and, after entering a Truecar Code, connects your conversation to the consumer THROUGH TRUECAR. So Truecar is now capturing dealers texts for their internal use? Furthermore, this is a blatant violation of TCPA, where businesses MUST receive WRITTEN opt-in from the consumer, so Truecar is putting the dealership at risk of federal fines by mediating our conversations with consumers.. Dealers should put a stop to this. Truecar is contractually obligated to pass through consumers information they submitted, not what Truecar picks and chooses as to what information they want to give us.

We get the most leads from this.
