Manheim Adds Personalized Vehicle Inventory for Dealers to Manheim Market Report Valuation Tool
Powered by Manheim M LOGIC, MMR introduces relevant inventory suggestions that help dealers find the right vehicle at the right price even faster.
ATLANTA – With growing margin compression and uncertainty in the market, dealers increasingly need to leverage smart technology to make the best buying and selling decisions. To help dealers accomplish this, Manheim is introducing personalized vehicle suggestions within its widely used Manheim Market Report (MMR) valuation tool. These suggestions are driven by M LOGICä, a suite of advanced decisioning products from Manheim launched earlier this year that bring the power of Cox Automotive data to the remarketing industry.
The Manheim Market Report is the industry’s most trusted source of wholesale vehicle values and is used by tens of thousands of dealers each year to research which vehicles to buy and how much to pay for them. Including personalized vehicle suggestions on MMR saves dealers time by showing highly relevant and immediately available inventory on a page that they use every day. When seeking MMR valuations for a given vehicle, dealers are presented with up to 12 similar vehicles available for sale, displayed in a carousel-style format. Dealers can click on a specific similar vehicle to access detailed information about the vehicle, or they can choose to view additional similar vehicles for sale within the Manheim Marketplace. These features help dealers quickly find and compare relevant vehicles so they can make more informed buying and selling decisions.
Industry-Leading Valuation Tool Becomes Even Better
“Personalized vehicle inventory is our latest innovation from the M LOGIC suite of decisioning products and is live today for all MMR users,” said Dr. Ben Flusberg, associate vice president of M LOGIC. “Our MMR digital site receives 75 million valuation requests each year, so we know it’s a tool that dealers regularly use to complete their research. At the same time, a common theme we hear from dealers is that it’s hard to find the right inventory, especially within digital channels. By presenting relevant vehicles at the moment dealers are doing their research on MMR, we’re bringing the right inventory to them at the right time. It’s part of Manheim’s commitment to continually help its clients become more efficient and profitable. And based on the strong digital engagement we’ve seen so far, we know this new feature is really helping them.”
Widely regarded as the industry-leading wholesale vehicle valuations tool, MMR uses millions of vehicle transactions, along with vehicle data, to value vehicles given their specific mileage, condition, exterior color and region. In addition to displaying the base MMR and adjusted MMR values, the digital site also includes AutoCheck and CarFax quick links, putting key decision-making information at clients’ fingertips across both mobile and desktop channels. Adding M LOGIC suggested inventory to MMR raises the bar in wholesale valuation tools and gives Manheim’s clients one more edge in driving success into their businesses.
Dealers will experience this new functionality when they log into Manheim Market Report using their Manheim credentials. To learn more about Manheim Decisioning, including M LOGIC and MMR, visit https://www.mymanheim.com/decisioning/.

Manheim Bids Farewell to Nick Peluso After a Distinguished 30-Year Career
An industry icon recognized for his bold vision, technological innovation and dynamic leadership
ATLANTA, Aug 29, 2019 – Manheim today announced that Nick Peluso, president of Manheim Digital, will retire from the company on December 31. It marks the close of a remarkable career in the automotive industry that has spanned three decades, including strategic leadership positions in sales, marketing, vehicle portfolio management, and most recently, at Manheim Digital.
“Nick has been a true visionary who used his wisdom and experience to move Manheim and the industry forward over the past 30 years,” said Grace Huang, president of Manheim. “Throughout his career, he was not only instrumental in creating impactful brands such as RMS Automotive and Manheim Express, he also helped to mentor and develop the next generation of bold leaders – this will be his lasting legacy.”
Peluso began his automotive career in 1988 as a western regional sales rep and was later promoted to vice president of sales and marketing at ADT Automotive. Manheim acquired the company in 2000 and named Peluso president of Remarketing Solutions. He was later appointed senior vice president, customer management responsible for overseeing the company’s sales, marketing and pricing functions. In 2014, set apart by his strong marketing and relationship-building skills, Manheim named Peluso president of RMS Automotive, one of the first global remarketing companies to offer clients greater visibility into their vehicle portfolio lifecycle through intelligent remarketing and advanced data, helping them make faster and smarter decisions.
As president of Manheim Digital since 2017, Peluso led the creation and deployment of the first omni-channel experience for Manheim, bringing together key digital channels such as Manheim.com, Simulcast and Online Vehicle Exchange (OVE) into one integrated destination for buyers and sellers. Through his highly collaborative approach with clients and employees, he was instrumental in developing Manheim Express, a mobile app for dealers that allows them to list and sell inventory 24/7 right from their lots. In just one year, Manheim Express has been downloaded by nearly 60,000 dealers, and more than 370,000 vehicles have been scanned through the app.
“While Nick has been a mainstay of the traditional auction industry for decades, his ability to visualize the future while navigating through unchartered waters is something that will inspire us for years to come,” said Cox Automotive President Sandy Schwartz. “Cox Automotive has been so very fortunate to have Nick as a member of our family, and I look forward to following him as he transitions to his next chapter.”
Throughout his inspiring career, Peluso served the remarketing industry by participating in and speaking at key events such as the Conference of Automotive Remarketing, the National Automotive Dealer Association convention, the National Remarketing Conference, as well as IARA and NAAA. In 2019, Peluso received the Bobit Industry Icon Award from the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) and the International Automotive Remarketers Association (IARA) in recognition of his bold vision, technological innovation and dynamic leadership.
“I’ve been so incredibly fortunate to work with such terrific people throughout my career – they’ve truly made my journey inspiring and memorable,” said Peluso. “And, while I’m retiring from Cox Automotive, I’m not thinking of this as the end of my career, but rather the beginning of my next journey.”
Peluso’s expertise and passion for the industry will continue to influence the industry for years to come.
In the meantime, Peluso plans to spend more time golfing, traveling and enjoying being a grandparent alongside his wife Jessie.

Manheim Provides Another Boost to Buyer Confidence with Flat Rate Pricing for Automatic Inspections
- - Automatic inspections help ensure the vehicles dealers purchase in the wholesale vehicle marketplace don’t have unexpected issues, saving businesses from unnecessary repair costs
- - Predictable pricing helps dealers take advantage of post-sale inspections whether buying in-lane, at a physical sale or through digital channels
ATLANTA – To increase dealer confidence in purchasing decisions within the wholesale used vehicle marketplace, Manheim is introducing flat-rate pricing for automatic post-sale inspections, providing dealers a hassle-free way to reduce their risks and help ensure vehicles bought at auction are in the expected condition.
The new program enables dealers to automatically receive inspections for all wholesale vehicle acquisitions at a predictable, consistent rate. The inspections, conducted by Manheim experts at the location, provide dealers protections against unexpected repair costs, which can cut into profits and cause delays in turning inventory. And, these inspections can be applied to both in-lane and digital purchases, adding trust and transparency to the process regardless of which channel a dealer decides to use.
“Manheim is constantly looking for ways to instill greater confidence and efficiencies for both buyers and sellers in the wholesale used vehicle marketplace,” said Brett Woods, vice president of Assurance at Cox Automotive.
“With our automatic flat-rate pricing on inspections, dealers can spend more time focusing on acquiring the right vehicles and less time worrying about paying for unforeseen repairs.”
Through the new program, dealers can now automatically apply a flat rate to either of Manheim’s two existing types of inspections: Limited Powertrain Inspection (LPI) and Post-Sale Inspection (PSI). Auto LPI is designed for older, high-mileage vehicles and focuses on structural, transmission, engine, drivetrain and hybrid/electric battery damage. The more comprehensive Auto PSI is intended for low-mileage vehicles and covers a range of items, including odometer verification, transmission engagement and function, engine function and operation, ABS and brake function, electrical accessory function and emission control equipment.
The inspections guarantee vehicle components for a specified period of time. If a car item passes during the inspection, but then fails during the guarantee period and costs $500 or more to repair or replace, the defect is eligible for claim resolution with Manheim. For more information about inspection guarantees, check out the Sale Policies section of Manheim’s Marketplace Policies.
These flat-rate inspection offerings are another Manheim initiative designed to free dealers up to make quick, informed and confident decisions through whichever channel work best for them – whether that’s at a physical sale or using one of Manheim’s leading digital platforms.
For more information on Manheim’s PSI and LPI offerings, visit www.mymanheim.com/psi/ or www.mymanheim.com/lpi/.

Manheim Boosts Investment in Simulcast Technology as Dealer Usage Continues to Rise
Growth Fuels More Than 1.3 Million Vehicles Sold to Digital Buyers Through July
ATLANTA – When Manheim’s Simulcast technology was introduced to the remarketing industry in 2002, dealers were skeptical about this newfangled way of buying and selling cars. Now, 17 years later, dealers are believers. Some 1.3 million vehicles were sold to Manheim digital buyers through July of this year and more than 60 percent of Manheim’s live sale attendance occurred via Simulcast.
As use of this digital auction platform continues to grow, Manheim is boosting its investment and improving its dealer experience by adding new features. They include:
- - One platform that makes it easier for dealers to view the bidding/buying experience
- Odometers and auction lights, indicating any special conditions of the sale, that are now visible for vehicles on the run list
- - Photo tabs that provide more visuals, larger images and multiple views, allowing dealers to see the vehicles from different angles without being onsite
- - A responsive bid window that dealers can enlarge or compress based on their monitor size to make it easier to see all relevant information
- - The ability to scroll forward or backward through the run list to preview vehicles before they’re on the auction block and follow the vehicle status after it leaves the block to potentially submit a bid on any unsold vehicles
- - Visible proxy bid amounts to remind dealers that they have already placed a bid
Clients will begin to experience the new Manheim Simulcast features later this year and into early 2020.
“The new Simulcast updates further evolve a technology that has transformed the remarketing industry by bringing the auction to the dealer,” said Grace Huang, president, Manheim. “These new features give dealers real-time access to even more vehicle details and images, so they can make faster, smarter bidding decisions. They’re also part of a bigger commitment by Manheim to invest in ways to improve the auction experience for dealers, creating a safer way to buy while helping them more effectively run their businesses.”
Simulcast revolutionized the remarketing industry in 2002 with a first-of-its-kind experience that allowed dealers to participate in an auction whether remotely from their dealership or in-person at the auction. Since then, dealers continue to embrace Simulcast in ever greater numbers with approximately 14.5 million bids placed last year through the technology. And, year-to-date through July 2019, 35 percent of vehicles that ran down Manheim’s auction lanes were sold via Simulcast. Currently, the company is in the midst of a two-year, $100 million investment in its digital marketplace, including Simulcast, to continue its mission to deliver the industry’s top destination for wholesale vehicle buyers and sellers.
Manheim also continues to upgrade the Simulcast technology for the benefit of buyers, including the ability to simultaneously watch and bid on vehicles in up to 40 different lanes, giving them unmatched access to a wide range of inventory without ever leaving their dealership.
The upgraded Simulcast technology is part of a revamped Manheim.com that seeks to deliver a more personalized experience for dealers, helping them find the inventory most relevant to their needs. It’s also part of Cox Automotive’s continued investment in digital solutions to create a more efficient wholesale used vehicle marketplace. Nearly half of all vehicles sold by Manheim in 2018 were through digital channels, a trend that is expected to increase to more than 50 percent by the end of the year.

Tips for Creating Effective Digital Listings from a Manheim Express Concierge
Manheim Express Concierge Specialist, Chenita Willis, shares key insights to help any dealer create listings that sell.
ATLANTA, Ga. (August 7, 2019) – Manheim Express, which just celebrated its one-year anniversary, is revolutionizing how quickly dealers can list—and sell—their vehicles digitally in Manheim’s wholesale marketplace. Dealers can either use the app themselves to list vehicles in minutes or call upon the Manheim Express Concierge team to inspect and create vehicle listings for them, as well as offer expert consultations on their wholesale pricing and strategy.
For those dealers who chose to complete the listings themselves, Manheim tapped into the expertise of one of its Concierge team members, Chenita Willis, to offer up these three tips to create listings that pop:
- Ensure your vehicle is photo ready.
First impressions count, so before you start the listing, be sure to pick a vehicle that is as clean as possible. Think of the digital marketplace as a virtual wholesale lot and ensure that any vehicles you list are ready for their closeups. Remember that better condition can bring better bids.
- Take a sharp 360 image.
Unique to Manheim Express is its unmatched 360-degree imaging capability, giving your potential buyers a virtual walk-around of the vehicle. To take a great 360, you’ll want to be sure you start with the sun at your back to help with picture quality, keep your phone level and steady as you walk quickly in a continual motion around the vehicle, and be as far away from the car as possible—ideally eight to ten feet—to get the entire vehicle into view.
- Be up front with vehicle damages.
The best listings are ones that fully capture the condition of the car, including damages. One of the great things about Manheim Express is that the app has the technology that allows you to tag damages with moveable images to help buyers truly understand the condition of the vehicle—coming as close as possible to a live interaction without buyers having to kick the tires.
“Manheim Express makes it easy for any dealer to create great listings that attract serious bidders and the right buyers,” Willis said. “And when sellers fully disclose all the details buyers need to make informed decisions, they build great reputations that make them a trusted, go-to source with repeat customers.”
With over 60,000 downloads in its first year, the Manheim Express app takes digital wholesaling to a whole new level with unmatched 360-degree imaging, enhanced condition information, and the industry’s only Guaranteed First Bid. With the three tips above, dealers will be well on their way to being power sellers on Manheim Express.
Dealers who prefer to have a dedicated expert do all the legwork for them can request Manheim Express Concierge Service by reaching out to their Client Sales Executive. In the coming weeks, dealers will also be able to request Manheim Express Concierge service from within the app.

Manheim Celebrates One Year Anniversary of Manheim Express with Two New Enhancements for Dealers
ATLANTA, Ga. (July 25, 2019) – Manheim Express officially turns one year old this month—and there’s a lot for dealers to celebrate. Since the app launched in 2018, Manheim has continued to raise the stakes in digital wholesaling with a slew of new features designed to elevate the client experience, including more bidding and buying options, a dedicated buyer experience and an ever-expanding Concierge workforce. Today, Manheim is bringing even more value to dealers with two new enhancements: a Condition Report Grade on all Concierge-listed vehicles and the ability to Request a Concierge right from the app.
“Since Manheim Express launched its Concierge force earlier this year, the service has proven invaluable to dealers looking to save time and benefit from expert advice in navigating the industry’s strongest wholesale marketplace,” said Derek Hansen, vice president of Offsite Solutions at Manheim. “And now, as we thank dealers for helping to grow Manheim Express, we’re raising the bar with this free service to make the experience even better for buyers and sellers alike.”
With hundreds of field representatives across the nation, Manheim Express Concierge provides dealers with a dedicated expert to help them sell vehicles. This service ensures dealers are able to have their vehicles listed with the latest digital tools, maximizing profits and quickly turning inventory, all from their dealership lots. Manheim Express Concierge saves dealers time, as specialists offer end-to-end service, from inspecting and listing vehicles to consulting with clients on their wholesale remarketing strategies.
This unparalleled service just got better, thanks to these new additions:
- Condition Grade for Concierge-Listed Vehicles
Vehicles listed by a Manheim Express Concierge have always carried a special badge to show buyers that the unit has been inspected by a highly trained specialist. Now, those listings will carry an official Condition Grade. For buyers, the Condition Grade gives them more information to assess the fit of a vehicle for their needs. Sellers benefit, as the feature opens up the buying audience by ensuring their vehicles show up in grade-specific searches.
- Request a Concierge
With the expanding popularity of the Concierge service, Manheim is making it even easier for dealers to request a Manheim Express specialist. In August, dealers will see a new “Request Concierge Service” button in the seller portion of the app, which will automatically trigger a request to the Concierge team. Within 48 hours, the dealer will be contacted and be well on his or her way to saving time and selling their vehicles quickly.
In just one year, Manheim Express has been downloaded by nearly 60,000 users representing 18,500 dealerships across the U.S. Among dealers’ favorite features are the 360-degree imaging with movable-image damage tags that bring the digital experience closer to an in-person look, graded condition reporting that surfaces potential issues so dealers can assess units faster, a Guaranteed First Bid that guarantees a vehicle will sell within two sale-days at an agreed-upon price or higher, and daily auction times that bring more eyeballs to inventory so it sells for the best price.
“Launching the Manheim Express app was just the beginning,” Hansen added. “With our dealers top of mind, our team has worked tirelessly to bring even more impactful features and services—and we’re not slowing down anytime soon.”

Autotrader Names 10 Hottest Used Cars for Summer 2019
ATLANTA, July 24, 2019 – Cannonballs into pools won’t be the only thing making a splash this summer. Thanks to Autotrader, car shoppers can spend more time soaking up the sun instead of endlessly surfing the web for the perfect used vehicle. Autotrader’s experts have made it easy for people to quickly find the 10 Hottest Used Cars for Summer 2019, which were selected based on the most-searched vehicles on Autotrader.com. If you’re a believer in the saying “there’s safety in numbers,” you’ll want to check out this list.
“All of these vehicles are hot in their own way, but one thing that won’t burn you this summer is their price,” said Brian Moody, executive editor for Autotrader. “These used cars represent significant savings over their brand-new counterparts and offer great value while maintaining a modern feel. All are smart choices that will save shoppers some extra cash to plan their next weekend getaway.”
Autotrader’s 10 Hottest Used Cars for Summer 2019[1]
Chevrolet Corvette (2014-2019)
The Chevrolet Corvette C7 is an outstanding send-off to the front-engine layout, which is well equipped with a range of spectacular V8 engines. More than just powerful, the Corvette has agile handling, a comfortable ride and a high-tech interior that is aging well so far.
Chevrolet Silverado (2014-2018)
At the intersection of modern and affordable, the previous generation of the Chevrolet Silverado hits the sweet spot for value. This truck offers strong capabilities, a quiet, comfortable interior and more traditional styling that consumers might prefer over the controversial look of the new generation.
Chevrolet Tahoe (2015-2019)
Our data shows certified pre-owned Chevy Tahoe models are highly searched on Autotrader – likely because they offer fairly strong value by providing a discount from depreciation while still coming with a manufacturer-backed warranty.
Ford F-Series (2015-2019)
Equipped with an excellent range of engines, strong towing and hauling capabilities and agile handling, the Ford F-Series is America’s best-selling truck for good reason.
Ford Mustang (2015-2019)
Recently redesigned in 2015, a lightly used Ford Mustang has a lot of bang for the buck with a budget-friendly price. This generation of Mustang combines great looks, excellent performance and strong value in one package that’s hard for consumers to resist.
GMC Sierra (2014-2018)
Mechanically identical to the Chevy Silverado, the Sierra is also all-new for 2019, but its previous generation beginning in 2014 is a bargain for used trucks. The old Sierra might not have the cool MultiPro tailgate, but if you can live without a tailgate that can turn into a desk, then a used model is worth a look.
Honda Accord (2018-2019)
The decline of sedans is evident by this list, but the fact the Honda Accord is the only one that made the cut says a lot about it. It has the basics of what you’d expect like comfort, safety and reliability, plus the Accord adds lively performance, a lot of safety technology and a luxurious interior in the high trims.
Jeep Wrangler (2012-2017)
The iconic Jeep Wrangler is a great buy on the used car market, especially if you’re shopping in the JK generation. The JK is a fun off-roader that offers a lot in family-friendliness with the four-door Unlimited model and any model after 2012 has a standard 4x4 drive, stronger V6 engine and new automatic transition.
Ram 1500 (2014-2018)
Rounding out the “big three” in American full-size trucks is the Ram 1500. Among this truck’s many virtues are impressive interior materials, a smooth, comfortable ride and an aesthetic that still refuses to be ignored today. What’s better? It can start as low as around $15,000!
Toyota Tacoma (2016-2019)
The Toyota Tacoma midsize pickup truck was fully redesigned for 2016, enhancing everything people loved about the Tacoma – things like reliability, safety and performance. The Tacoma impresses on-road with a well-built interior and a strong optional V6 engine, which we recommend since it is a lot more affordable used than it is new.
Autotrader’s Hottest Used Cars for Summer 2019 list features the most-search cars, trucks and SUVs on Autotrader’s website from January 1, 2019 to July 8, 2019 (ranked by search volume). Manheim Launches Apprentice Program to Address Nationwide Shortage of Skilled Auto Technicians
As a leader in the remarketing industry, Manheim takes a “Grow Our Own” approach to fill the gap in developing auto technician talent.
ATLANTA, Ga. (July 22, 2019) –Prompted by a severe shortage of auto technicians nationwide and fast-growing need by clients for the company’s reconditioning services, Manheim has launched its own apprentice program. Across its reconditioning network, Manheim anticipates a significant increase in demand in 2019 and beyond.
“With the need for auto technicians rapidly outpacing the number of qualified candidates, it’s critical that we invest in growing our own talent to meet the evolving needs of our clients,” said Grace Huang, president of Manheim. “The Manheim Apprentice Program is a way for us to develop the next generation of skilled technicians to meet not only the growing needs of today’s dealerships, but also tomorrow’s mobility providers.”
The Manheim Apprentice Program (MAP) is designed to help its operating locations nationwide identify, recruit and hire entry-level auto technicians for their reconditioning centers. It offers two recruitment paths: one for external candidates with technical experience and another for internal team members interested in becoming a technician.
The 12-week program is designed to help equip apprentices with the necessary skills and knowledge to advance to a part-time or full-time entry level position. Apprentices enrolled in the program are supported by Manheim team members who serve as mentors to guide them in their development and training. With a full range of tools provided by Manheim, apprentices complete up to 480 hours of training under the guidance of their mentors.
The MAP program comes at a time where many people believe that pursuing an auto technician career is undesirable based on outdated ideas about the earning potential and career path. However, with new technologies being used, today’s technicians are more technologically-driven and work with their minds as much as their hands.
Samantha Flores, currently an apprentice at Manheim San Antonio and daughter of an experienced mechanic, was working at a job that she didn’t see long-term potential in—then an online ad for the Manheim Apprentice Program caught her attention.
“I was a night security officer at a home improvement store, and I just didn’t see a future in that role,” said Flores. “When I saw an ad for the Manheim Apprentice Program, I knew it would be a great opportunity. I love the diversity of learning experiences I’m getting—it’s helping me with time management and growing into a solid mechanic with a bright future."
In addition to launching its own apprentice program, Manheim is continuing its relationship with TechForce Foundation, an organization dedicated to educating parents and middle school and high school students about the new era of the auto technician.
“We have some of the best auto technicians in the country, but an industry-wide shortage of entry-levels professionals has made recruiting and training an urgent priority,” Huang added. “As a leader in the industry, we’re taking every opportunity to promote this valuable, and needed, career path.”
Currently, 19 Manheim locations across the country are participating in the auto technician apprentice program. Later this year, the program is expected to expand to include Body Shop and Paint technicians. For more information on MAP, interested candidates should inquire at MAP@coxautoinc.com.

Dealership News
Great idea to say the least. As colleges put students into deep debt for years beyond graduation, alternative, high paying jobs in the automotive and other technician heavy careers should be considered. We used to have training in HS for these kinds of jobs, not sure how common that is anymore.

Local Charities Win Big in Manheim Corporate Challenge
Cox leadership donates $20,000 between two charities in San Antonio and the Philadelphia area
ATLANTA, Ga. (July 16, 2019) – An organization that helps veterans with housing and employment needs and a nonprofit that fights hunger are the big winners of a corporate challenge among Manheim locations nationwide. The east-versus-west contest to raise awareness for the Manheim Express app sparked a friendly wager among top leadership at Cox Automotive and parent company Cox Enterprises. Consistent with the company’s ongoing emphasis on giving back to the community, the friendly wager resulted in $10,000 donations to charities selected by the winning location in each region.
Manheim San Antonio chose their local chapter of. The organization helps veterans and their families find stable housing and meaningful employment.
“GI Forum does wonderful work for our community’s veterans, including our location’s security officer, who is a GI Forum resident,” explained Manheim San Antonio General Manager Mike Browning. “This donation is so important to their mission because it provides unrestricted funds to help fulfill needs that are not covered by grants or government funding.”
Manheim Philadelphia chose longtime charity partner. Located just four miles from the Manheim site, the organization is dedicated to ending hunger in northern Pennsylvania.
“Seven years ago, we were searching for a local nonprofit to support and we found it right in our own backyard,” explained Charlie Pollina, general manager of Manheim Philadelphia. “With less than one percent of its budget coming from public funding, Manna relies heavily on corporate and community donations to serve the hungry throughout Montgomery County.”
Cox Enterprises President and CEO Alex Taylor and Cox Automotive President Sandy Schwartz spearheaded the corporate challenge among Manheim locations. Together, they made good on their bets by making special visits to each location for a check presentation.
“We are so proud of Charlie and his team for doing their part to make differences in the lives of others,” added Schwartz, who led the east region.
“I was touched by the special connection between the team at Manheim San Antonio and the GI Forum and thrilled to support their passion for helping veterans in the community.” said Taylor, who led the west region.
The east versus west showdown challenged Manheim locations to increase dealer awareness and use of the Manheim Express mobile app, which helps dealers buy and sell wholesale vehicles quickly and easily right from their phones. Launched nationwide in July 2018, Manheim Express offers the wholesale industry’s only Guaranteed First Bid and 360-degree imaging, which are huge benefits to dealers who need to turn inventory quickly. Manheim & Remarketing by Element to Provide Emergency Response Vehicle to the American Red Cross
ATLANTA, Ga. (June 27, 2019) – For the second year in a row, Manheim Statesville’s exceptional efforts in the annual “Race to Give” charity program resulted in the donation of an emergency response vehicle to the local chapter of the American Red Cross. This year’s vehicle, a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu donated by Remarketing by Element, further expands the organization’s emergency response fleet used to deliver supplies and services to those in the Carolinas region who have been impacted by disasters.
Since 2016, Manheim and Remarketing by Element have partnered on the national “Race to Give” campaign that provides local support for the American Red Cross. Each year, Manheim locations across the country organize creative fundraising activities in a friendly competition that culminates with a vehicle donation by Remarketing by Element to the winning location’s local Red Cross chapter. Over the past three years, Manheim’s collective fundraising efforts have generated more than $350,000 and the donations of five Red Cross fleet vehicles.
“Compassionate community partners like Manheim are essential to helping us meet our mission to alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies,” said Angela Broome Powley, CEO for the American Red Cross Greater Carolinas Region. “Their support allows us to mobilize volunteers, and provide hot meals and shelter when there is nowhere else to turn.”
In the most recent “Race to Give” campaign, Manheim Statesville emerged as the top auction location, raising $40,500 in addition to organizing blood drives, collecting hurricane relief supplies, installing smoke alarms, and stuffing 150 teddy bears for the Red Cross to give out to children at local shelters during times of natural disaster and when they respond to home fires.
“Our 450 team members feel it’s important to extend Manheim’s corporate partnership with the American Red Cross to the local level by helping individuals and families in our own backyard,” said, Ellie Johnson, general manager, Manheim Statesville. “These vehicle donations, along with the other activities that support our local Red Cross chapter, demonstrate the deep commitment we have to the community where we live and work.”
“We often think of the American Red Cross as a national organization, but their hyperlocal response helps individuals and families in communities every day,” added Paul Seger, vice president of asset remarketing at Element Fleet Management. “We are humbled to support the services they provide to people facing dark moments due to disaster.”
