Ways to Spot Toxic Employees
We all deal with toxic people in our workplace and navigating that field can feel like jumping through hoops. Sometimes the best way to avoid toxic people is by staying away altogether.
To help you identify what a toxic person is like.
Here are 10 different ways to spot a toxic team member.
1. Sale people are afraid of toxic salespeople.
2. Ask a toxic salesperson what they’re getting done and they’ll tell you what they plan to get done.
3. Conversations always have winners and losers.
4. Listening is their tool to learn weaknesses, find fault, and gain an advantage.
5. Toxic employees allow you to fail so they look good. As long as they look good, everything is fine. When failure comes knocking, they make excuses for themselves and blame others.
6. Toxic employees don’t: Acknowledge failure. Extend forgiveness. Offer an apology.
7. Managers, leaders, and fellow employees are idiots. Toxic employees are always right. They carry the ‘burden’ of knowing what everyone else should do.
8. Toxic employees always have solutions/answers for everything and everyone but share it in a way to make them look good and you look stupid.
9. The only people who aren’t idiots are the people who: Admire them. Agree with them. Acquiesce to their desires. Advance their personal agenda.
10. Toxic employees throw you under the bus and make it look like they’re helping.

My NADA Exhibit Recommendations
More than 25,000 new-car and -truck dealers and their managers, as well as dealers from over 30 countries, auto industry executives and exhibitor staff attended the 2016 NADA Convention & Expo in Las Vegas. Founded in 1917, NADA will celebrate its 100-year anniversary during the 2017 NADA Convention & Expo in New Orleans, which will run from Jan. 26-29.
For some reason or another I’ve never made it to a NADA. Even when it was in Vegas last year I was too busy to scoot on down the road the largest automotive conference of the year.
Since I’m not going to be there this year I thought the least I could do is provide you guys with a list of the exhibitors that I think are pretty interesting and would be spending time with if I was in New Orleans.
Use the official NADA100 Mobile App to:
- Find and schedule meetings with exhibitors
- Create your personal schedule of workshops and events
- Navigate the convention center with walking maps
- Rate your workshop session experience
- Download and email workshop presentations and handouts

What NADA 2016 Was Like In My Mind
Even though it was literally right down the street from my office I didnt make it to NADA 2016. No problem though because I was able to imagine what it was probably like.
Am I too far off?
WUBBA LUBBA DUB DUB!
Everyone has a plumbus in their home. It's hard to imagine life without one. And we all know how a regular old plumbus is made. You can get 'em by the case at the local big box store.
That's why at ThinkGeek we carry only artisan plumbuses. Rest assured that these are not your 6 1/2 brapple black-market plumbuses. We use extra-virgin schleem, never before pressed into the dinglepop, which is organic. And we do not force the dinglepop through the grumbo; it proceeds naturally in its own time. Our fleeb is picked at the peak of perfection for the freshest juice. All our Schlamis are board certified before their first rubbing. We use only locally-sourced chumbles (well, local to Earth, Dimension C-137). Finally, the ploobus and gromble are sustainably harvested and given to a local soup kitchen.
It takes a little extra time, but we think it's worth it. And we think you'll agree.
