CK Advertising Challenges Businesses To Surpass Its 14,058-lb. Donation To Food Bank

CK Advertising is challenging local businesses to surpass last year’s 14,058-pound donation to the Holiday Heroes Food Drive by Nov. 17.  The food drive sponsored by the Cape Coral Police Department benefits the Harry Chapin Food Bank. 

Cape Coral, FL (November 3, 2017) – Local award-winning advertising agency is challenging Cape Coral and Fort Myers businesses to surpass the 14,058-pound donation it made last year to the Holiday Heroes Food Drive.  The annual food drive, hosted by the Cape Coral Police Department, brought in nine tons total last year for the Harry Chapin Food Bank, including CK Advertising’s food donation and $1,000 check.

The challenge deadline is set for Friday, Nov. 17 – the official Harry Chapin Food Bank pickup date for donations at the agency’s headquarters in Cape Coral.

The Cape Coral Police Department will also be holding a SWAT demonstration from 9 a.m. to noon at the agency located at 1521 Commerce Creek Blvd. Cape Coral, near the Hope Hospice Center.

People love to help but by the time they see something on the news, they feel like it’s too late to participate or they might not get around to it. We just want people to know that we’re here and available in the area as a drop-off point in case they’re heading to work or running errands.  We’re open from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on weekdays,” said Ed Kiesel, VP and creative director at the agency.

But we’re still hoping someone can beat our donation from last year and help more families,” he added.

$20,350 Strikeout Challenge Check to Be Presented to Starting Right, Now Before Rays Game Friday

Crown Automotive Group will join forces with Chris Archer & the Rays Baseball Foundation for the "Strikeout Challenge" check presentation on Friday. Crown pledged $25 for every strikeout recorded by Archer, bringing the total to $75 per strikeout.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.Sept. 28, 2017)-- Crown Automotive Group, along with Chris Archer, and the Rays Baseball Foundation announced today that they will present a $20,350 check to Starting Right, Now in support of Chris Archer's Pledge To "Strikeout" Teen Homelessness.  The presentation is scheduled to take place at Tropicana Field on Friday, September 29 before the Tampa Bay Rays game.

Chris Archer partnered with the Rays Baseball Foundation at the beginning of the season in an effort to end teen homelessness.  The Foundation agreed to match Archer's $25 donation every time the pitcher recorded a strikeout.  The automotive dealership group joined in support by pledging an additional $25 per strikeout, bringing the total per strikeout to $75.

"We feel very fortunate to be able to help everyone in our community, but we feel especially fortunate to be able to help those in our community that are most vulnerable.  Teen homelessness is a serious issue and we are happy to be able to help give teens a home and a brighter future," said Jim Myers, President of Crown Automotive Group.

Presenting the check to Vicki Sokolik, Founder and Executive Director of Starting Right, Now, will be Archer, Rays President of Baseball Operations Matt Silverman, and Crown Automotive Group President Jim Myers.

Rays fans also donated $2,125 to the cause.

Morgan Auto Group Rises To Number 28 In Automotive News' Top 100 Dealer Group Used Sales Ranking

Morgan Auto Group moved up 25 spots in this year's "Top 100 Dealership Group Used-Vehicle Sales" supplement published by Automotive News. The Tampa-based dealership group's new position was determined by its 2016 used vehicle revenue and unit sales, bringing its rank up to number 28 nationwide, and 4 in Florida.

Automotive News released its yearly "Top 100 Dealership Groups Ranked by Used-Vehicle Sales" supplement earlier this week, listing Morgan Automotive Group at number 28. The supplement used 2016 used vehicle sales, specifically revenue and unit sales to determine dealer rank. According to the listed rankings, the automotive group is also positioned at number 4 in the state of Florida for used vehicle sales.

The supplement also provided commentary on the top-performing group, which was limited to franchised new-vehicle dealerships selling used vehicles.

"A robust used car operation is a real core competency of many successful dealer groups. We owe a large part of our pre-owned success to the evolution of our sales process in pre-owned. Whether we are talking market-based pricing or our ability to reach consumers online, we have grown individually as operators and moved the needle greatly as a whole," said Brett Morgan, President of the Morgan Auto Group.

Morgan Automotive Group moved up 25 spots from last year where it was previously ranked at number 53. This position was based on 2015 used vehicle sales evaluated using the same metrics from this year's ranking.

"We also have improved our ability to deliver low cost and safe pre-owned vehicles to customers which has made an impact. Remember, a successful used car operation isn't just good for used car customers but it is a real plus when that new car customer comes to trade (with us) as well. Honda of Ocala will be giving away a new 2017 Honda Civic LX Coupe to a Marion County high school senior with perfect attendance on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. The winner will be randomly selected from eligible entries at 6:00p.m.

“This giveaway has become one of the most exciting and fulfilling traditions at Honda of Ocala. Investing in our community and its future through education is a priority for us,” said Andrew Vislosky, General Manager of Honda of Ocala.

Now in its seventh year, the Perfect Car for Perfect Attendance Giveaway began in 2011 as a partnership between Honda of Ocala and Marion County Public Schools to encourage better attendance among seniors during their last year in high school.

Morgan Auto Group's Senior VP, Tom Moore spearheaded the initiative. “We feel that this program has accomplished the original mission on which it was founded. It makes us especially proud to receive hundreds of entries every year,” said Moore.

In order to be eligible, seniors must have registered for the contest between August 15 and August 26 of last year. They were also required to be enrolled and have attended a Marion Country Public High School with perfect attendance from August 29, 2016 through May 5, 2017.
