Morgan Auto Group Rises To Number 28 In Automotive News' Top 100 Dealer Group Used Sales Ranking

Morgan Auto Group moved up 25 spots in this year's "Top 100 Dealership Group Used-Vehicle Sales" supplement published by Automotive News. The Tampa-based dealership group's new position was determined by its 2016 used vehicle revenue and unit sales, bringing its rank up to number 28 nationwide, and 4 in Florida.

Automotive News released its yearly "Top 100 Dealership Groups Ranked by Used-Vehicle Sales" supplement earlier this week, listing Morgan Automotive Group at number 28. The supplement used 2016 used vehicle sales, specifically revenue and unit sales to determine dealer rank. According to the listed rankings, the automotive group is also positioned at number 4 in the state of Florida for used vehicle sales.

The supplement also provided commentary on the top-performing group, which was limited to franchised new-vehicle dealerships selling used vehicles.

"A robust used car operation is a real core competency of many successful dealer groups. We owe a large part of our pre-owned success to the evolution of our sales process in pre-owned. Whether we are talking market-based pricing or our ability to reach consumers online, we have grown individually as operators and moved the needle greatly as a whole," said Brett Morgan, President of the Morgan Auto Group.

Morgan Automotive Group moved up 25 spots from last year where it was previously ranked at number 53. This position was based on 2015 used vehicle sales evaluated using the same metrics from this year's ranking.

"We also have improved our ability to deliver low cost and safe pre-owned vehicles to customers which has made an impact. Remember, a successful used car operation isn't just good for used car customers but it is a real plus when that new car customer comes to trade (with us) as well. They are looking for a dealer who understands the true value of their trade-in and has the distribution needs internally to fully realize that cars value," said Morgan.

Bimmer-Con To Feature Daryl Dixon Motorcycle Giveaway In Benefit Of Female Veterans Unite, Inc.

BMW of Sarasota will host its first ever BimmerCon on Saturday, April 29th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at its dealership located at 5151 Clark Road, Sarasota, Florida 34233. The event will feature celebrity judges, a costume contest, cash prizes, and a grand prize giveaway of "Daryl Dixon's Bike" from the AMC series The Walking Dead.

Sarasota, Florida (PRWEB) April 26, 2017 - BMW of Sarasota recently announced that it will be hosting its inaugural Bimmer-Con event on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at its dealership located at 5151 Clark Road, Sarasota Florida 34233. This year's event will be Walking Dead themed and will feature a cash costume contest, luxury giveaways, and other family-friendly activities.

BimmerCon was organized this year in benefit of Female Veterans Unite, Inc., a local non-profit that organizes retreats for female veterans.

All proceeds from future Bimmer-Con events will also be donated to organizations that raise awareness and provide services, support and training for U.S. veterans.

BimmerCon's main attraction this year is a custom Classified Moto 920R motorcycle previously owned by actor Norman Reedus valued at nearly $40,000. The actor's character, Daryl Dixon, also uses a similar bike on the AMC hit show The Walking Dead.

Last week the Morgan Automotive Group dealership released a short promo video detailing the rules for the highly-anticipated Daryl Dixon Bike giveaway. BMW of Sarasota will be giving away the custom Classified Moto at the event to a winner selected from video entries submitted before midnight on Friday, April 28, 2017.

Other prizes include a 4 hour cruise on a 62 inch yacht on Sarasota Bay, a free weekend rental of a new BMW convertible 4 series and over $1,500.00 in cash prizes for the Walking Dead themed costume contest.

The event will also host celebrity judges that will serve as an expert panel for both the costume and the video entry contest.

Crown Motorsports Division Builds Record-Breaking Supercharged Audi S5,GIAC Production Software Used

Loe Phaengsavanh, a Crown Motorsports Division client, sets new quarter-mile record with an Audi S5 3.0 equipped with GIAC tuning software. The vehicle was confirmed to be the fastest recorded stock supercharged S5 in the world on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Bradenton Motorsports Park in FL. after finishing the quarter-mile in 11.208 at 122.96 mph.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - March 31, 2017 - PRLog -- Crown Motorsports Division recently announced a record-breaking 1/4-mile run by client Loe Phaengsavanh using an Audi S5 3.0 built by the St. Petersburg-based custom performance center. The 2014 Audi S5 set the quarter-mile record at 11.208 seconds on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Bradenton Motorsports Park in FL, reaching 122.96 MPH. The vehicle now holds the world record for stock, supercharged 2013 – 2016 S5 coupes.

Phaengsavanh also set the previous 1/4-mile record at 11.241 seconds last summer reaching 122.44 MPH.

"It has been our pleasure at Crown Motorsports Division to work with Loe as well as GIAC throughout the testing and development process for this vehicle and current software. Because of the commitment from both Loe and GIAC , as well as the skilled hands of our technicians at Crown Motorsports Division, we were able to share in this awesome accomplishment," said Evan Doel, Performance Lead at Crown Motorsports Division.

Crown Motorsports Division has been partnering with GIAC since March 2016 and began beta testing the B8.5 Dual pulley software in August 2016 with Phaengsavanh and his record-breaking Audi S5.

"Loe has been paramount in the development and success of the B8.5 GIAC software and he deserves a lot of credit for what he has accomplished," Doel continued.

Other performance modifications made public by Crown Motorsports Division include: AWE super charger pulley, larger crank pulley, upgraded cooling system, Crown Motorsports X-pipe exhaust modification, and a transmission mount upgrade.

"I felt great knowing that I was part of something that will be utilized for others who run, or will run, using GIAC software. The team was wonderful to work with, and I enjoy that my daily driver can run like it does safely without going to the extremes. If the weather cooperates, I will be making a few more passes, slowly chipping away at my time. And if not, then I will hit the track again once cooler weather passes through Florida in the fall," said Loe Phaengsavanh.

The record-breaking night run took place on Thursday, March 16 during Bradenton Motorsports Park's Test and Tune night.  Phaengsavanh, reached the 11.208-second marker on his second run of the night."

Crown Jaguar Wins Coveted 'Pride Of Jaguar Award' For 10th Consecutive Year, 13th To Date

Jaguar Land Rover North America recently listed Crown Jaguar as 1 of only 16 U.S. Jaguar dealers to qualify for the prestigious 2017 Pride of Jaguar Retailer Excellence distinction. The manufacturer evaluated the Crown Automotive Group dealer on three core performance indicators: customer advocacy, sales, and business excellence.

St. Petersburg-based Crown Jaguar was recently awarded the prestigious 2017 Pride of Jaguar Award by Jaguar Land Rover North America. The coveted award is given annually to the top 16 Jaguar retailers in the nation. This marks the dealer's 13th win and the tenth time in a row that the automotive manufacturer has honored Crown Jaguar with the distinction.

Jaguar Land Rover N.A. evaluated its 330 U.S. Jaguar and Land Rover retailers based on three key performance categories, choosing 16 top dealers from each brand. Award-winning Land Rover stores received the Land Rover Pinnacle Retailer Excellence Award.

The qualifying categories included customer advocacy, sales, and business excellence.
